Energy balancing is related to Reiki, but uses direct action rather than symbols. It can be hands-on or hands-off. It works best when the client is physically present, but can be used for distance work by experienced practitioners. It is based on theory similar to the Eastern practices involving Chi such as accupressure and accupuncture, and is concerned with acquiring and maintaining proper flows of Life Energy through the "chakras" and "meridians". This is done by using either Cosmic energy (if one is smart) or personal energy passed to the client through the hands of the practitioner. Energy balancing is often used in conjunction with massage or accupressure as it seems to enhance and be enhanced by both. It also combines well with scent, crystals and stones, and herbal teas, baths, etc. In my personal practice, I often give a client a stone or crystal to wear or carry with them to help maintain the newly attained energy balance. Having been attuned to Reiki 3, it is my feeling that the biggest difference is that energy balancing is a determined outcome oriented practice using a non-standardized system of symbology based on the beliefs/practices of the client and practitioner, where Reiki is supposed to be allowed to determine its own outcome and uses a particular set of symbols with established meanings passed down from master to student. Having used both, they each have their own places where they are most effective and the practitioner needs to be knowledgeable enough about both to make the choice as to which is more appropriate for the client and circumstances. Assuming of course, that one is trained in both. Otherwise, use the one you know, IMHO.
Hope this answers some of what you're asking. Let me know if you need/want clarification on any of this.
Divine blessings to all-
Adrian
Thanks for checking out the Young Living products. They are excellent products for sure - my own teachers at massage school use them in their massage practices because of their pure therapeutic grade quality. And I must say they just smell amazing!
If you have any questions about any of the oils or their other products, please feel free to contact me.
And thanks for your great blog posts on natural remedies. I love discussing these kinds of things with others!
Have a great day,
Robyn
